Lighting

Turning it on is the moment a room comes alive.

GridLights builds custom architectural lighting that reacts to the environment, engineered and built in-house. Houston-based, installing nationwide.

Interactive scene

Empty black-metal retail shelving against a white wall, lit by integrated linear LEDs under each shelf.
The same shelving merchandised with iconic red Le Creuset Dutch ovens and cookware, integrated under-shelf LEDs visible.

Le Creuset

North Houston · 2024

The pots and pans jump to life. The fixtures disappear.

Lighting that asks for attention is failing the room. Every part of this install — the extrusion profile, the LED tape, where the channels live — was chosen so the source disappears and the cookware does the work.

We bench-tested, then coordinated on-site with the millworker so installation moved fast and clean. LEDs, wiring, and power supplies stay hidden from customers but accessible for future service. Le Creuset hired us back for their Gulf Shores, Alabama location.

The fixture anchors the show. The crowd finds the stage.

A rectangular linear-LED grid, custom-built and hung from the metal awning over the outdoor stage. The fixture does the work an architectural element should do — define the space, draw the crowd, hand the moment to the performer.

Over a year on, 24/7, outdoors — and the install still color-shifts on cue for whatever the night calls for.

Rosewater Bar

Clear Lake, Houston · 2025

Themed night, every night. Same fixtures.

An accent lighting system covering the whole patio — easy enough for a new bartender to set to the vibe. Rosewater is already the go-to neighborhood cocktail bar, and the lighting amplifies the existing cozy vibe. Why would you want to leave?

This is what dynamic accent lighting should be. No glare, intimate moments.

This storefront serves fresh flavors and vibes.

A drop-ceiling grid that washes the whole room in saturated color. The weekly palette shift keeps the vibe as fresh as the ice cream. Creamy Mexican, Rodeo Clown, Mangonada — the flavors are the brand, and the lighting moves to match.

Keeping up with the ever-changing flavors would be difficult for any other lighting product. GridLights keeps the team inspired and customers wanting more.

House of Smokez

Washington Ave, Houston · 2023

The room shifts as the customer browses. The brand stays put.

Parallel linear-LED runs across the full ceiling, programmed for an ambient palette that stays on-brand by default. As customers move through the merchandise, the room shifts subtly — never loud, never asking for attention. The store reads the way the brand reads.

Late-night retail competes on feel as much as on selection. House of Smokez built a space customers seek out, and the lighting keeps the room recognizably theirs through the hours when most shops blur together.
